4. Who we share it with
- Wix.com, which hosts this website and receives and stores form submissions on our behalf as our data processor.
- Selling estate agents we appoint for a development, but only with your consent, so they can help with your enquiry about buying a home.
- Professional advisers such as solicitors, accountants, surveyors and planning consultants, where needed for a land enquiry, a purchase or a contract.
- Authorities or regulators where the law requires it.
We never sell your personal information.
5. International transfers
Wix may store or process data outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area, the United States and other countries where it or its sub-processors operate. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or UK adequacy regulations.
6. How long we keep it
- General enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact with you.
- Register-interest details: until the development is sold, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, whichever is sooner.
- Land enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, or longer if we go on to buy the land, when records are kept as part of the transaction.
- Subcontractor and supplier records: while they remain relevant to our tendering, and no more than 6 years after our last engagement with you.
Where we enter into a contract with you, we keep contract and accounting records for as long as the law requires.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information (rectification);
- ask us to delete your information (erasure);
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
- receive it in a portable format (data portability);
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This won’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@hanbyhomes.co.uk or write to us at the address above. We may need to confirm your identity, and we will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not set any advertising, marketing or analytics cookies ourselves. The website uses:
- Essential cookies from our hosting and security providers (Wix and its content delivery and security service, Cloudflare), which keep the site secure, block abusive traffic and help pages load efficiently.
- A Wix site script and a visitor token stored in your browser (local storage), used to send form submissions securely to Wix. A token is only created when you send a form.
- Google Fonts, which is used to display our headings. Your browser connects to Google to download the font, which means Google receives your IP address.
Because these are strictly necessary to provide the website, they don’t require consent. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, such as the forms, may then not work.
9. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
